Topside Press Seeks Fiction Writers for for Transgender...

Short-story collection will feature work by and about transgender people “Transgender people deserve great art,” says publisher Tom Léger, as Topside Press announces that it is now accepting submissions for a pioneering short-story collection of new transgender fiction. This exciting project will feature short works with authentic narratives that avoid tropes and portrayals that are common to literature about transgender people, who are often included in books or movies only as victims or perpetrators and not whole characters. “We want to be a part of the boom of transgender expression and culture that’s happening in the US right now,” says Léger.

Especially if the firm hasn’t specifically stated that they’re open to receiving applications. Sending a speculative enquiry is however a great way to find out about potential legal jobs openings / work experience vacancies which aren’t advertised. And if they aren’t advertised you’re more likely to be successful. Let’s have a look at the general layout of the letter you can send and why exactly this method can be so successful. Amazon.com: The Book of Speculation: A Novel (9781250054807): Erika Swyler: Books

""The Book of Speculation "is a luscious experience--dark, sweet, and wild. " --Katherine Dunn"In this dazzling novel, the immensely talented Erika Swyler sweeps seamlessly through generations and centuries, moving deftly back and forth and weaving the strands into an exquisite tapestry. I was immediately swept up in this quirky, raucous, and bewitching family saga. Swyler's prose is so polished and elegant it reads effortlessly, even as her distinct voice shines through--her rendering of the sea and its savage appetite rivals that of Annie Proulx's in "The Shipping News.

speculative materialism on WordPress.com

I’ve been building right now and I don’t like to talk much when that happens, which is why no posts have been made recently. But SpecMat readers who are in London’s wheelhouse may be interested in RH’s London workshop. SpecMat will be there, especially since we’re now ‘doing’ financial engineering for the distributed capital services wing of RH. Here’s the program -should be cool. Just watch this video, like I have 4 or 5 times, and ask yourself the question “what is additivism?” The student of nonlinear dynamics immediately thinks of additivism as a conservative concept.

It is the day the Garden of Cosmic Speculation opens for one day only for only 5 hours for the general public to wander and enjoy. The Garden of Cosmic Speculation is one of the most important gardens to have been created in Europe in the last few decades; with no wealth of plants the garden instead provides mathematical formulae and scientific wonders in a garden setting combining natural landscapes and synthetic symmetry and curves. The gardens are the work of internationally acclaimed landscape architect Charles Jencks and his late wife Maggie.

Stock Market Crash of 1929 - Facts & Summary - HISTORY.com

During the 1920s, the U. S. stock market underwent rapid expansion, reaching its peak in August 1929, after a period of wild speculation. By then, production had already declined and unemployment had risen, leaving stocks in great excess of their real value. Among the other causes of the eventual market collapse were low wages, the proliferation of debt, a struggling agricultural sector and an excess of large bank loans that could not be liquidated. The New York Stock Exchange was founded in 1817, although its origins date back to 1792 when a group of stockbrokers and merchants signed an agreement under a buttonwood tree on Wall Street.
